Josh Permick is Rabbi at Congregation Beth Israel in Metarie Louisiana. Rabbi Pernick was raised in Nanuet, New York, before receiving a BA in Sociology and MAT in Elementary Education from Brandeis University. He also attended the Pardes Center for Jewish Educators’ year-long fellowship program. He was an early childhood and elementary school educator who taught in Jewish day schools in Charleston, SC, Watertown, MA, and Atlanta, GA, before embarking on his rabbinic journey in the summer of 2015.
